Dropular

A worth opponent to Ffffound has finally surfaced and it’s been the source of much activity today.

Image aggregators are ten a penny on the internet now and it seems that if you need some inspiration in the form of design work and photos, then you certainly don’t have to stroke the bookshelf so quickly as you might in the past. I’m not entirely sure if I like that trend. But I do know that it is good fun.

For a while, I would use Ffffound as a resource without question. But soon I started to realise that the community it draws from is somewhat inbred (hypothetically of course) in the fact that similar images would be regurgitated cyclically.

Dropular is a sort of new alternative to Ffffound made by the creators of Typeneu. I don’t believe that the problem I just explained will be alleviated, but I do believe that the addition of ‘following’ functionality, the ability to drop video and even basic tagging references, builds eloquently on what was has already been established. I set up an account today for the Beta launch and for now, it’s fun again.
