Bozar: Palais de Beaux Arts

I was idly flicking through some old holiday photos and came across these two of the interior of a splendid Art Deco theatre in Brussels. I accidentally stumbled on the theatre when I popped inside the Bozar Palais de Beaux Arts to see an art exhibition. I’m glad I did.
Art Nouveau Architect, Victor Horta was the chap behind the design and interior detailing. His skill and talent ensured that the relatively small physical plot would be spatially optimised by utilising eight floors and a simplistic arrangement of curved walls and mezzanines in the open areas. The result is visually arresting and the clean white edges, warm woodwork, backlit signage and sweeping ocean-liner balconies are an absolute treat to stand amongst.
If you’re ever in Brussels, I heartily recommend that you make a beeline for a swift peek at this place. It’s rather special.
