About
My name is Christian Statham and I work as a designer in the UK. I initially conceived and created the Colourschool blog to serve as dumping ground for the overwhelming amount of creative inspiration (mainly from the internet) that at the time I was finding difficult to record and process. I built the first wordpress blog installation back in August 2008 and since then it has grown to serve as a one-stop vintage design and curiosity resource.
I thought it might be useful to highlight a sort of manifesto for Colourschool so that you know roughly what expect from the blog.
What Colourschool will try to do:
Present unique, interesting and digestible posts that reflect the creative industries past, present and future, but that also draw on other unique curiosities that may lift an eyebrow or two.
Post regularly (at least once a week unless circumstances prevent it).
Employ a usable site structure along with good quality images, video, sound and external links to augment the content.
Continue to impart my personality to the blog without being too subjective
Honour and respect those whose content I may feature.
Engage with anyone who reads my blog and provide a space for relevant discourse.
What Colourschool will try NOT to do:
Moan, gripe and generally use the blog as a platform for venting spleen.
Dilute or deviate from the essence of the content to suit other agendas.
Post dull, ubiquitous or regurgitated stuff.
Allow pointless discussions to develop on the posts.
Post content without researching or checking the validity of the content.
Upset anyone.
So there it is… As long as you kind people keep popping in to see my ramblings, I will do my best to keep putting them together.A thousand thank yous.
